A good book to settle in with for post holiday reading is The Color Idea Book by Robin Strangis (Taunton Home Idea Books). Strangis, owner of Loring Interiors in Minneapolis, is an award winning designer who has over 20 years of experience advising clients in how to use color to make every room in their homes uniquely expressive of their personalities.NOVEMBER
Trellage-Ferrill: I was driving in my old neighborhood in Northeast Mpls and found the Trellage-Ferrill glass studio. I stopped in to see all the wonderful art glass, including lighting, sinks, counters and lots of other fun and artsy products. I am excited to introduce my clients to this innovative work.

10th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival
If you’re in the Twin Cities the weekend of September 16-17, be sure to stop by the Midtown Global Market for the 10th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival. The event is free and open to the public and will showcase tile work from 60 talented tile artisans, food and workshops on homemade tile and mosaics. It’s a great opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind pieces and learn how to incorporate tile into your next home improvement project. Visit the Handmade Tile Association for details. I’m excited to be working with SoMi Tileworks on a kitchen project this summer. Artists and mother-daughter team Norma Hanlon and Kirsten Walstead create gorgeous handmade art tile that look spectacular in any type of installation.
Check out Mercury Mosaics in Northeast Minneapolis for spectacular tile design! Mercedes Austin and her team of artisans create beautiful pieces of functional fine art. Check them out at the Casket Arts Building during Art-a-Whirl, May 20-22.

Really interesting and colorful palette. I think i wll be trying to use handmade mosaic tiles in the interior to anchor an eye.
handmade ceramic mosaic tiles had always been used in a very interesting manner. In Greek tubes and swimming pools it looks great and authentic.
But a year or so people started experimenting with handmade mosaic and material it`s made of. Glass, steel, gold-plated - all of these are looking weird,indeed, but in the same time they deliver experience you had never had
